FPT offers personal, professional training that caters to all individuals, athletes and board riders from beginners to professional.

Dr Olly Farley is one of only six people in the World who has completed a PhD on surfing performance enhancement. It is through this knowledge base that FPT delivers personal training in a far more in-depth, professional and sport science approach that is proven within high performance training and is research backed.

Olly has been working within the Strength and Conditioning field for 16 years and in that time has completed a Bachelor of Sport (Coaching: Unitec), Post Grad Dip (Sports Science: AUT), Masters (Sports Science: AUT) and PhD (Sports Science: Edith Cowan University).

Olly was the head exercise physiologist at the Hurley Surfing Australia High Performance Centre (2013-2016) where he completed his PhD and also worked with WCT and WQS professional surfers.

The past years Olly has been involved in training up-and-coming junior NZ athletes (Hockey, football, sailors, rowing, netball, cycling, swimming, sprinting and Paralympians) in the Pathway to Podium programme – many of whom are in NZ national teams. Olly now works with a number of New Zealand professional athletes and contracts to SnowSports NZ training NZ representatives/Olympic athletes in skiing and snowboarding. Olly is also the Director of Training for Away Global Performance Training, and is a Master coach (exercise physiology) for The Surfing Pentagon.

Board Sports is a passion of Olly’s and is a training service to all board riders to help develop their abilities.

“I want to create a legacy of providing athletes/boarders young and old, greatness to take away that improves their personal development not only in their sport, but in their life”
